Simon Bolivar in a gas mask Rodrigo Figueredo Art Arte Venezuela

"Simon Bolivar in a gas mask"
70x90cm Acrylic and spray paint 2016

This piece became an icon for venezuelan pro democracy militants from 2014. I produced this stencil from a viral image/montage I got from the net that I transformed to deliver in this particular form (hand made paint on canvas)  I produced a first stencil (was smaller than this one) in 2014 but this is the first bigger size of the series. People of Venezuela in manifestations in the streets of Venezuela have used this as a symbol in signs and social networks creations.

I donated this piece in 2016 to "Students for Liberty" libertarian nacional students asociation in the USA. Here you can see some of the most significant people and situations this piece has been involved in.

Here are some pictures of people and situations in which the piece "Simon Bolivar in a Gas mask" had some impact and symbolism. I have made a number of series from 2017 onwards, they consist of high quality prints on canvas in small sizes that I number and authentificate. Here's an example of what they look like. You can link me up via the contact section in the site if you're interested in one.

For now (mars 2018) there are only 4 hand painted orginal versions in canvas in the size of the original piece featured at the top of this article, I plan in making no more than 20 and for them to be held by people who undertadn and value it's symbolism for Venezuela.
