"Pokemon go North Korea"
56x50cm Acrylic on canvas 2016

During the Pokemon go fever of 2016, I choose to depict in a humoristic way the way I perceived this trend (or call it happening). I choose to use north Korea propaganda art and replace the guns depicted in the hand of the represented figures in the original piece with smart phones! this no mock and open a debate on the chasing the yellow little monster game and its social implications. The implicit and explicit message is obvious yet multi layered. You can read this piece in different levels of interpretations depending on the angle you choose to digest, understand and project it. Humor is obviously an important part of my work too because I think it eases the passing of the message.
